More confirmation I made the right choice to do history over accepting fine art is the GSA’s 3rd dismal degree show in a row. I was initially inspired to apply after seeing the degree show when I was 16 and, to me, the level of skill and creativity was enough to make me drop everything academic and focus completely on getting in. For years. Maybe it’s just my perspective as someone older or maybe it’s my own higher standards personally as a photographer/painting monkey (or a mix of both), but the decline in my admiration or ability to recall any piece or artist from even this years work is really gutting.
That being said well done School of Art graduates. A lot of work and time and skill well done.
